Edit an order before cut-off time

This article shows you how to edit an existing order in Ordermentum before the supplier cut-off time.

You can edit both:

  • One-off orders (manual orders)

  • Standing orders (scheduled recurring orders)

You can only edit orders if:

  • The supplier allows order edits

  • The order is still before cut-off time

  • The product lead time does not lock the item

Understanding order types

One-off orders (Manual orders)

These are single orders you place manually.

Placed (No edits allowed πŸ”’)

Important notes

  • You can edit orders multiple times before cut-off

  • Some products lock earlier due to product lead time

  • You cannot add products if their lead time is longer than time remaining before delivery

  • After cut-off, you usually must contact the supplier to request changes

Pre cut-off locking reminder (Editable Hours):

  • Placed orders are locked from editing approximately 5 minutes before the configured editable cut-off time

  • This helps ensure orders are processed correctly by suppliers

  • Please make sure you complete and save your edits before this early lock period

    Sample scenario:

    • Order placed: Tuesday, 7:00 AM

    • Editable until: 1:00 PM (configured editable hours: 6)

    • Pre cut-off lock applies: 12:55 PM

Troubleshooting

I cannot edit my order but it is before cut-off

Possible reasons:

  • Supplier has disabled editing for placed orders

  • Product lead time has locked the item

  • The order has already been sent for processing

Solution:
Contact your supplier and ask if order editing can be enabled in their order schedule settings.

I cannot add a product to my order

This usually means:

  • The product lead time is longer than time remaining before delivery

Solution:
Order the product for the next available delivery date.

I cancelled a one-off order β€” can I restore it?

No.
You must contact your supplier to place a new order.

I cancelled a standing order β€” can I restore it?

Yes.
Standing orders can usually be reinstated before cut-off.
