Keeping your prices accurate in Ordermentum ensures your customers are always quoted correctly. There are two main ways to update prices: manually editing individual products or using the CSV importer for bulk updates.
Option 1: Updating Prices Manually
Manual updates are best when you only need to change a small number of products.
Updating a Single Product's Base Price
Navigate to the product you want to update.
Scroll down to the Base Price field.
Enter the new price and click Save.
Updating Prices for Products with Variants
Click directly on the product name to open the product in a new window.
Adjust the base price for each variant as needed.
Click Save when finished.
Note: For products with variants, make sure you are opening the product variant itself to update the base price. Alternatively, you can update the pricing group the product belongs to by clicking "Edit Prices".
Updating Custom Prices for Specific Customers
If a customer has a dedicated pricing group, you can update their custom prices directly:
Go to Trading Details > Pricing.
Find the relevant pricing group and click on it.
Click "Edit Pricing"
On the "Custom Price" column, it will show "none" if you haven't set up pricing. Click on that, and choose whether you want the price to be dynamic or fixed.
Update the prices for the relevant products and click Save Changes.
Alternatively, open a product and go to Pricing and Availability > Edit All Prices to update prices across all pricing groups from one place.
Option 2: Updating Prices in Bulk via CSV Importer
The CSV importer is the most efficient way to update prices across many products or pricing groups at once.
Updating Base Prices via Product Import
Go to Settings > Imports > Products.
Download the existing product list as an Excel file.
Update the Base Price column for the relevant products.
Re-import the updated file back into Ordermentum.
Updating Pricing Group Prices via Pricing Import
Go to Settings > Imports > Choose pricing groups.
Download the existing pricing.csv file.
The CSV will include a column for each of your pricing groups.
Enter the updated prices under the relevant pricing group columns. Prices can be entered in two formats:
Fixed: A specific dollar amount (e.g. $2.50 above or below the base price).
Dynamic: A percentage above or below the base price (e.g. -10.00% or 10.00%).
Once updated, upload the file by clicking Upload File.
If any errors are detected, you will be notified. Correct the errors and re-upload.
Tip: Only update cells for products that need a custom price. Leave a cell blank if the product should use its base price within that group.
To learn more about updating using the importer, have a read of CSV Import Requirements article first.
Tips & Best Practices
Repeat the pricing CSV import process whenever you need to update prices in bulk.
Note that changing prices in Ordermentum does not automatically update prices in Xero. You will need to update product pricing in Xero separately.
