Manage Payment Details in the Ordermentum App

Updated over a week ago

This guide shows you how to add, set as default, and remove payment methods in the Ordermentum mobile app.

Before You Start

Make sure you’re logged into the Ordermentum iOS or Android app, and that it's up to date. If you don’t have it yet, download it from your app store and sign in.

Hit the cog icon

How to Add a Payment Method

  • Open the app and tap the cog icon (⚙️) to go to Settings

  • Select the venue you want to manage, then click 'Payment Methods'

  • Select:

    • Add Credit/Debit Card, or

    • Add Direct Debit

Accepted Payment Types

Credit/Debit Card

  • AMEX

  • Mastercard

  • Visa

Direct Debit

  • Requires a valid BSB and Account Number from an Australian banking institution

How to Assign a Payment Method to a Supplier

  1. Go to Settings > Venue > Payments

  2. Tap the saved payment method

  3. Toggle it on for the relevant suppliers

How to Remove a Payment Method

You can only delete a payment method if there are no unpaid invoices linked to it.

Why can’t I see the Delete button?

If the Delete option is missing, the payment method is still attached to an invoice that hasn’t been marked as paid yet. The system protects suppliers from accidental payment failures — basically a financial seatbelt.

What you need to do

Already paid outside the platform

  • Contact the supplier and ask them to mark the order as paid

  • Once marked paid, the delete option will appear

Still can’t remove the old card even after paying everything?

If all balances were already settled using a new card, but the old one still won’t delete, there may be a hidden or missed invoice still linked to it.

Next step
Please contact Ordermentum Support so we can investigate and check for any remaining unpaid invoices tied to that card. Once cleared, the payment method can be removed.

Reminder: Before deleting a payment method, it’s best to add a replacement — otherwise, future orders that require automatic payment won’t go through.

FAQs — Manage Payment Details in the Ordermentum App (iOS & Android)

1. What payment methods can I add in the app?

You can add:

  • Credit/Debit Card — AMEX, Mastercard, and Visa

  • Direct Debit — Requires an Australian BSB and Account Number

2. Can I assign different payment methods to different suppliers?

Yes.
Open the saved payment method and toggle it on for the suppliers you want it used with.

3. How do I set a default payment method?

Toggle the payment method on for the supplier — the active method becomes the one used when orders require automatic payment.

4. Why can’t I delete my payment method?

Usually, because it’s still linked to:

  • An unpaid invoice, or

  • An outstanding supplier balance

The delete button disappears when the system detects it’s still needed.

5. I already paid the invoice outside the app — why is the card still locked?

The supplier must mark the order as paid first.
Once they update it, the payment method can be removed.

6. I paid everything but the card still won’t delete

There may be a missed invoice still attached to the card.
Contact support so the team can check and release it.

7. Should I remove my only payment method?

Not recommended.
If a supplier requires automatic payment, future orders may fail. Always add a replacement payment method first.

8. Do payment changes affect past orders?

No — updates only apply to future transactions. Existing invoices keep the payment method originally used.

9. Can I manage payment details on both iOS and Android?

Yes — the steps and features are identical on both platforms.

10. What happens if I don’t have a payment method assigned to a supplier?

Orders may still be placed, but:

  • Some suppliers require automatic payment

  • Those orders may fail or remain unpaid until a method is assigned
