How to add reasons for removing items from an order
Updated over a week ago

Occasionally, suppliers may need to adjust orders due to factors like market availability or product substitutions. Zeroing out an item and providing a reason helps your customers understand why their order has changed. This guide will walk you through enabling and using the feature to manage such adjustments effectively.

Table of Contents

Enabling the Feature

To enable the ability to zero out items and add reasons for changes:

  1. Navigate to Settings: Go to Settings > Features.

  2. Enable the Following Options:

    • Reason for deleting line items

    • Line item comments

Once these features are enabled, you can start managing your orders with greater flexibility.

Zeroing Out an Item

To zero out an item from a customer order and provide a reason:

  1. Access the Order: Navigate to the order you wish to modify and click 'Edit'.

  2. Select the Line Item: Choose the item you want to zero out and click the delete icon.

  3. Provide a Reason:

    • The quantity will be set to zero, and a list of reasons will appear.

    • Select the appropriate reason or choose 'Other' to enter a custom reason if the predefined options do not apply.

  4. Save the Order: The zeroed-out item and its reason will now be visible to the venue.

Note: If you prefer to remove the item entirely without providing a reason, select 'Delete without a reason'. This will completely remove the item from the order.

Visibility for Customers

Zeroed-out items and their associated reasons are visible to your customers in the venue app when they view their order, ensuring transparency.
