Enabling the Feature

To get started with Product Availability:

  1. Navigate to Settings → General → Features.

  2. Enable the Product Availability option.

This will activate the feature across your account.

Setting Availability Dates

Once enabled, you can configure availability for each product individually:

  1. Go to the product’s details page and select Products → Advanced Settings.

  2. Locate the Availability Dates section.

  3. Enter:

    • Start Date: The first day the product is available for order.

    • End Date: The final day the product is available for order.

  4. Save your changes.

Note: The dates you set determine when a customer can place an order—whether it’s a one-off purchase or a scheduled recurring order. These dates do not affect the delivery date.

Adding and Editing Orders

Adding Products to New Orders

  • Within Availability Dates:
Customers can add the product to both new one-off orders and standing orders.

  • Outside Availability Dates:
The product will not be available to add. Customers will see a notification indicating that the product is currently unavailable.

Editing Existing Orders

  • Adjusting Products (Within Availability Dates):
Customers can update the quantity or remove the product.

  • Adjusting Products (Outside Availability Dates):
Customers will receive a warning stating:

"This product can no longer be amended. Please contact the supplier directly to make changes."

Other products in the order remain editable.

Important: Suppliers have the ability to override these availability settings, meaning they can add or edit products regardless of the set dates.

Standing Orders

For customers with standing (recurring) orders, the availability dates work the same way. The key difference is that even after the availability end date, the product will remain on the order if the standing order cutoff has passed and the order is placed.

FAQs

Q: How does this work with scheduled standing orders?
A: Unlike the standard “Out of Stock” status, a product will continue to appear on a standing order even after its availability end date—provided the order cutoff has passed.

Q: Can suppliers make changes to orders with products past their availability date?
A: Yes. The restrictions apply only to new standing orders or edits to existing standing orders outside the designated availability period.

Q: What should I do after fulfilling all orders for a limited availability product?
A: Once all orders have been fulfilled, you can disable the limited availability setting. This will remove the product from any remaining orders and scheduled standing orders.
