Manage your Schedules for Public holidays & other closures

This article explains how to manage your schedules on public holidays or other related closures.

Updated over a week ago

This article explains how to manage your schedules on public holidays or other related closures. Different suppliers have different preferences, so there are three options to consider when managing schedules for these periods:

  • Run a Schedule early

  • Cancel a Schedule

  • Change the Delivery delay

Table of Contents

Run a Schedule Early

Running a schedule early allows you to process standing orders due for future delivery dates.

  1. Open a Schedule and go to the Next Run Dates section.

  2. You will see the next 5 dates the Schedule is due to run. Click on the Run now button for the relevant date.

For example, if you run the January 3 Schedule in December and the Delivery delay is 1, all orders will have a delivery day of January 4, and the order creation date and time will be set to when you ran the Schedule.

Important Notes:

  • Once you run a Schedule, it can't be reversed.

  • Inform your customers of the change, as they won’t be able to edit their orders once the Schedule has run.

Cancel a Schedule

Cancelling a single schedule will cancel that Schedule and all attached standing orders.

  1. Open a Schedule and go to the Next Run Dates section.

  2. You will see the next 5 dates the Schedule is due to run. Click the dropdown arrow next to the Run now button to cancel it.

If you accidentally cancel a Schedule, you can reinstate it if needed.

Important Note: If the "Standing Orders" setting is OFF, turn it on to see the "Next Run Dates" of the schedule. After cancelling the schedules you don’t want, switch the "Standing Orders" setting OFF again.

Change the Delivery Delay

Changing the delivery delay of a Schedule allows you to run the Schedule on the same day but changes the delivery day for the orders.

Example:

  • You have a Schedule that runs on a Wednesday with a 1-day Delivery delay (usually delivered on Thursday).

  • If you’re not delivering on that Thursday because it's a public holiday and want all standing orders delivered on Friday instead:

    • Go to the Schedule and change the Delivery delay from 1 to 2.

Important Note: After the Schedule runs, it does not revert back to the old setting. You must manually change the Delivery delay back to the original setting after the Schedule has run.
