Using the Insights Tab

Your Insights are designed to provide you with an easy-to-understand snapshot of your venue’s performance.

Updated over 2 months ago

The Insights Tab is designed to provide a quick and comprehensive overview of your venue’s performance, helping you make informed business decisions. Whether you manage a single venue or multiple locations, the Insights tab offers key business metrics, tracks trends, and highlights areas for improvement through interactive charts and data visualisations.

For owners of multiple venues, the Insights tab consolidates performance across all your locations, allowing you to view the bigger picture and make strategic decisions based on aggregate-level data.

Table of Contents

1. Key Features

  • Aggregate Insights: View a combined summary of insights across all your venues, helping you identify overall trends and performance metrics.

  • Venue Filtering: Easily filter the insights to focus on a specific venue while still accessing the aggregate data.

  • Prompt for Sales Data: Multi-venue operators will be prompted to provide typical weekly sales data for more accurate insights.

2. Actionable Metrics

The top-line metrics provide a quick snapshot of important numbers:

  • Payments Due: View the total amount due for the selected period. You can compare changes from previous periods.

  • Invoices Due: See the number of invoices due within the selected time frame.

  • Orders Placed: Track the total dollar value of orders you placed during the selected period.

  • COGS% (Cost of Goods Sold): If sales data is available, you'll see a COGS percentage. If not, you’ll be prompted to add sales data for a more complete picture.

Tip: If your sales data isn't connected yet, the COGS% metric will prompt you to enter your average weekly sales estimate. This value helps provide a quick view of your weekly cost of goods sold.

3. Chart: Spend by Supplier

The Spend by Supplier chart displays your expenditure across different suppliers using a stacked column format, highlighting the top 3 categories of your spending. This makes it easy to identify major cost areas.

Key details:

  • The chart shows data for the current week and the previous five weeks, providing a clear view of how spending has evolved over time.

  • A dotted line indicates the weekly average spend for context.

Note: The chart provides a consistent historical view of spend by supplier, allowing for easy comparison over time regardless of date/time filters.

4. Venue and Date Selector

Venue Selector

Choose to see data from all of your venues at once, just a single venue, or a selection of your choosing.

5. FAQs

What is Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), and how is it calculated?

Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) represents the direct costs involved in producing the goods you sell, including raw materials and labour. We calculate COGS by dividing the value of your orders by your total revenue for the period. If revenue data isn't available, we use your provided average weekly sales estimate to give a rough approximation.

What if I don't have sales data?

You can still use the Insights tab, but we recommend adding sales data for more precise insights.
